5 -day art seminar
One week intensive seminar with possibility of extension
on La Palma, Canary Islands

Day 1: Introduction to painting materials and techniques, watercolour and mixed media, collages
- Materials, brushes, colours, paper
- wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet techniques, glazing technique, layering technique
- Applied colour theory, colour wheel, primary, secondary and tertiary colours, the art of colour mixing
- The motif and its realisation
- Approaches, motif finder and other aids
- Drawing techniques
- Daily work observations

2nd day
- Painting and drawing in the café, situations, people, houses, concrete and abstract
- Painting and drawing on the beach, waves. Sea
- Object and nature studies
- The coloured drawing
- Possibility to take part in the "Art-Making-Course" 15:00-17:00 in Puntagorda
- The artistic New Year's Eve, possibility of a joint New Year's Eve celebration with dinner, e.g. in Tazacorte
3rd day
Perspective, very simple!
- One-point, two-point perspective, horizon, colour perspective, spatial illusion
- Further exercises
- Perspective of a picturesque row of houses in Palma
Day 4
free time
- e.g. excursion to the caldera nature reserve, hiking tour, rest day at the beach, city shopping in the capital, dolphin-watching tour etc.
- On this day you can collect earths and pigments to make colours for the following day
- Possibility to take part in the "art making course" 11:00-13:00 in Los Llanos
5th day
Colour production from found natural pigments
- Pigment, binder for the production of mainly watercolour paint
- Experiments
(Acrylic, oil, gouache, egg tempera or chalk colour production would also be possible)
6th day
Free work, documentation, preparation for the final presentation
and conclusion
- Create signposts, continue on your own path with exploration of your individual artistic expression.

Followed by the possibility of an in-depth week with individual focus and personal support
Accommodation
Please organise your own accommodation. There are many accommodation options in all price ranges and for all requirements.
I would be happy to send you some options or further websites.
It would make sense to book in the Los Llanos or Tazacorte area.
There are many small holiday homes that participants could share. Please write to me if you are interested.
Flights
Flights must be booked independently. Important: book to La Palma SPC (not to Palma de Mallorca, not to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria). Possible airlines for direct flights: easyJet, Condor, Iberia. From Switzerland: Edelweiss. Bargain hunters sometimes have luck with one-way flights with stopovers in Mallorca, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Food
In the places where we work and create, there are restaurants for lunch and dinner, as well as supermarkets where we can eat together or individually and stock up on supplies as desired.
Materials
I bring all the materials needed for the course day, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing/painting supplies. Here you can find the materials we work with.
I also sell high-quality drawing and painting materials.

Locations
On La Palma, Canary Islands, mainly in the west of the island: Los Llanos, Tazacorte,
mainly on the beach, by the sea, in cafés, in pine forests, in picturesque locations,
in seminar rooms in case of bad weather (which hardly ever happens)
Car hire
Not absolutely necessary if your accommodation is in Los Llanos or Tazacorte or near a bus stop. But it is of course easier with a hire car. You are welcome to ask me about car hire.

Single day: 80,-€ (with club card 45,-€)

Follow-up intensive week approx. 20 hours 520,-€ (without accommodation, flight, hire car)
This week can also be booked independently of the basic course.

Enrolment
Please register using the registration form here. Afterwards you will receive all further steps including the payment modalities.
Terms of payment
Deposit of 50€ upon enrolment.The remaining amount is due 4 weeks before the start of the course. You will receive the payment details with the enrolment confirmation

Cancellation
The provider reserves the right to cancel the course up to 4 weeks before the start of the course, no recourse can be taken. All advance payments will be refunded within 5 days
Cancellation
If a course is cancelled by the participant up to 4 weeks before the start of the course, the course fee paid minus the deposit will be refunded within 5 days, in the event of cancellation 2-4 weeks before the start of the course, 50% of the course fee will be refunded, from 2 weeks the payment cannot be refunded.

Insurance cover
Please provide yourself with all the insurance you need, e.g. travel insurance. There is no insurance cover from the provider.
