One week intensive seminar with possibility of extension
on La Palma, Canary Islands
Arrival day: Arrival, arrival, possibly first orientation meeting in the evening
Day 1: Introduction to drawing materials and techniques, black and white and coloured
Drawing techniques, pencil, charcoal, graphite, chalks, papers
- The motif and its realisation
- Approaches, motif finder and other aids
- Stroke and line, object and surroundings, hatching
- Further preliminary exercises
- Object and nature studies
- Own creative space

2nd day Introduction to the material and technique of colourful sketching and painting

- Possibility to take part in the "Art-Making-Course" 15:00-17:00 in Puntagorda
Day 3 Perspective, very simple!
- One-point, two-point perspective, horizon, colour perspective, spatial illusion

- Perspective of a picturesque row of Palmerian houses in Tazacorte
4th day at leisure
- e.g. excursion to the caldera nature reserve, hiking tour, rest day at the beach, city shopping in the capital, dolphin-watching tour, etc.
- Possibility to take part in the "café drawing course" 11:00-13:00 in Los Llanos
Day 5 Excursion to El Tablado, a typically forgotten picturesque village
- Sketches and studies
6th day free work, documentation, preparation for the final presentation
and conclusion
- Creating signposts, continuing on your own path and exploring your individual artistic expression
- Small final presentation of your work
- Motivation and appreciation session

followed by the possibility of an in-depth week with individual focus and personal support
Accommodation
- 7 nights/bedroom with breakfast in a double room per person at the Hotel Benahoare***, in the centre of Los Llanos (please book for two or ask if another person is also looking)​

The Hotel Benahoare is located 200 metres from Plaza España in Los Llanos de Aridane, on the island of La Palma. It offers comfortable accommodation with a rooftop terrace with mountain views. The air-conditioned rooms at the Hotel Benahoare have tiled floors and plenty of natural light. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a safe and a private bathroom with a hairdryer and toiletries. The hotel has a lounge with a plasma TV, a bar and a cafeteria, as well as a rooftop terrace with sun loungers and a lounge bed. A varied breakfast is served every morning. The hotel is located in a quiet street opposite the Archaeological Museum and 5 minutes' walk from various shops and bars. The beaches of Tazacorte and Puerto Naos are both a 10-minute drive from Hotel Benahoare.

With self-organised accommodation, there is something for everyone. There are many accommodation options in all price ranges and for all requirements.I will be happy to send you some options or further websites.
It would make sense to book in the Los Llanos, Tazacorte, Tinizara, Puntagorda and Las Tricias areas.There are many small holiday homes that participants could also share, write to me if you are interested.
Flights
Flights are booked independently. Important: book to La Palma SPC (not to Las Palmas, Mallorca). Possible airlines for direct flights: easyjet, Condor, Iberia. From Switzerland: Edelweiss. Bargain hunters are sometimes lucky with single flights with a stopover in Mallorca, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Food
There are restaurants for lunch and dinner as well as supermarkets where we can eat together or individually as we wish.
Materials
All materials can be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing/painting equipment, e.g. a sketchbook, your brushes, your colours
I also have drawing and painting sets available to borrow or buy, so you don't need to bring anything with you:
Personal items
don't forget good shoes (sturdy shoes are enough), sun hat, sun protection, small rucksack

on La Palma, Canary Islands, mainly in the west of the island: Los Llanos, Tazacorte, Puntagorda, Las Tricias

in seminar rooms in bad weather (which hardly ever happens)
Hire car
You probably can't do without a hire car. Theoretically, it would also work with a bus and carpooling with other participants.

Enrolment

The registration includes the participation in the course and the booking of a double room in the hotel.

Deposit 10%, due upon enrolment

Registration up to 2 months before the start of the course 10%
Guarantee, cancellation
The provider reserves the right to cancel the course up to 4 weeks before the start of the course, no recourse can be taken. All advance payments will be refunded within 5 days

Cancellations
If a course is cancelled by the participant up to 4 weeks before the start of the course, the course fee paid minus the deposit will be refunded within 5 days, in the case of cancellations 2-4 weeks before the start of the course, 50% of the course fee will be refunded, from 2 weeks the payment cannot be refunded.Cancellation by the hotel is free of charge up to 4 weeks before the start of the course.
Insurance cover
Please provide yourself with all the insurance you need, e.g. travel insurance. There is no insurance cover from the provider.
