Printing techniques have been used throughout human history for thousands of years. In modern times, they are often used as an artistic medium.
Lithography is a flat printing technique and differs from relief or intaglio printing in that the ink-bearing layer is on the same level as the printing block.
With very simple materials – aluminium foil, cola, a paint roller and paper – we can quickly produce such a flat print and use it creatively.
The process is very simple: a motif is drawn on aluminium foil with grease crayons. A quick dip in cola etches the non-greasy areas. After cleaning, the printing block is inked and printed by hand. The print appears where the grease crayon was previously drawn.

And because the technique is so simple, we can play and experiment, e.g. printing several prints on top of each other and letting chance play a part.

Abstract approaches are just as welcome as concrete ones.
